Will has been an editor for many years, and still takes on new projects from time to time.

In the early 1990s, he was Production Editor at EMAP before moving to the Times Literary Supplement as the Arts Editor in 1995.

At the TLS he commissioned and edited pieces by Gore Vidal, Clive James, Peter Porter, David Malouf, Angela Hewitt, Ian Bostridge, William Boyd, Judith Weir, Sean Scully, Joan Acocella, Sylvia Brownrigg, Robert Gottlieb, Richard Fortey, Elaine Showalter, David Attenborough, Paul Muldoon, Ali Smith, and many others.

He edits fiction mss for private clients, and non-fiction for journals, publishers, and institutions including Chatham House (the Journal of Cyber Policy), Salt Publishing, Unbounders, TLS, Black Inc., Oxford Information Labs, and Demographic Research.
